Hello Pickleballers!
We would like to welcome you to our fourth season of Pickleball here at the Y. Please join us for open play starting September 11th from 9am to 12pm Monday through Friday. This year we will have A player days on Monday and Friday, B days will be Tuesday and Thursday and Wednesday will be all play! A $2 daily fee covers open play or you can purchase a punch card for $10 that gives you 6 plays for the price of 5! If you are a member of the YMCA or join for the winter time frame, pickleball play is free every visit. We now offer silver sneakers and prime memberships, which means free if your insurance offers those programs. See the front desk with any questions.
We will also be hosting our Third Annual Pickleball tournament on October 28th
· The tournament will be set up round robin style so upon arrival, you will receive a number and a schedule will be set with your partners and designated courts for play.
· Tournament will start at 9 am sharp, 8 am check in begins. After check in, warm ups will begin. We will have plenty of indoor balls available for warm ups and the tournament.
· At 8:45 we will go over a few other rules, housekeeping details and get started.
· You are guaranteed 7 games, the top 4 with the highest scores will then turn around and best two out of three determine the winner. Partners will be chosen at random.
· We will have three groups this year for the tournament with a max of 8 in each group. The groups will be A (which is 3.5 and up), a B (which is 3.4 to 2) and a C (which is 2.0 and below). When registering, you will let the front desk know which group you want to be placed in.
· The three winners will receive free play for the winter season at the YMCA if you are not a member, if you are a member you will receive a $25 program credit to use towards any Y program.
· Registration is $25 and will include a t-shirt and water/snacks during the tournament. There will only be 8 spots available for each group, so make sure to register soon to save your spot. You can register at the front desk in person or if you played last season, call 317-273-9622 to pay over the phone. Registration will start September 18th.
· Oh and did I mention, the tournament will be Halloween themed so costumes are HIGHLY encouraged. We will have a special prize for best dressed as well.
